National Partnership Platforms on HIV and TB: A toolkit to strengthen civil society information, dialogue and advocacy

Send link | Print |

With over a decade of experience supporting community voices, Health & Development Networks (HDN) developed the National Partnership Platform (NPP) strategy for more unified, grounded responses to HIV, TB and related health and development issues. The NPP strategy is a unique approach that creates the space for an effective dialogue between civil society, government, and other stakeholders built upon equal exchange, and underpinned by transparency and accountability. The NPP includes a diverse representation of partner organisations and addresses two of the most fundamental and neglected aspects of the response to HIV and TB: genuine coordination, dialogue and collaboration between local civil society stakeholders, as well as improved accountability and ownership of national HIV and TB policies and programmes.

The NPP Toolkit is designed with two main objectives:  to support the continued development of existing NPPs; and to guide the start-up of new platforms.  Organisations and partnerships interested in maintaining or establishing NPPs in-country can use the toolkit to support the growth of this unique initiative.
