About carlsamuels

Carl is a semi-retired life coach. He conducts self exploration retreats each year in the United States; and assists HDN as a strategist and management coach. He is also the chairman of Samsara Thailand foundation. Samsara contributes to the health and education of poor hill tribe children in and in the mountains around Mae Sariang through building needed facilities and scholarship programs.

He was the co-founder of Business Life Transitions; and creator of The Art of Mentoring and Next Step life transition programs to assist CEOs and senior executives create meaningful lives beyond their business success. Next Step was licensed to TEC worldwide in 2000; and Carl trained a number of facilitators to conduct TEC Next Step programs throughout the United States.

Carl has been associated with TEC Worldwide since 1978, when he became one of the initial leaders of their peer group learning program for CEOs. He entered the management consulting arena in 1972, and over the next 27 years assisted a broad variety of companies in making the transition from an entrepreneur-ship to a professionally managed business.

Carl's motivation for working in the field of HIV/AIDS and TB is to ease suffering on the planet; HDN provides him with an opportunity to work in these particular areas.

Carl was born in Los Angeles, California. He and his wife Keiko have lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand since July, 2003. He enjoys the Thai culture, his yoga practice and traveling throughout the world. Carl and Keiko have a 23 year old daughter currently living and working in New York. Carl also has 3 other adult children and 5 grandchildren living in New York, Mill Valley, California and Oahu, Hawaii.
