Partners Ireland
Partners Ireland is an e-mail discussion forum focused on HIV/AIDS and other health and development issues in Ireland and abroad. By providing a platform for information sharing, dialogue and debate, the forum encourages multi-sectoral planning and policy-related advocacy among relevant Irish organisations and institutions, as well as partner organisations in other countries.
The specific objectives of Partners Ireland are to:
- Save members’ time by sharing news and other developments within the health and development sector;
- Improve communication and coordination, in particular promoting exchange between government and non-government organisations, as well as other national institutions, in Ireland and abroad;
- Encourage a state of ‘network readiness’ so that rapid responses to emerging HIV/AIDS and related issues are possible.
Who are the members?
Partners Ireland currently has over 200 members from organisations and individuals, mainly from Ireland and Africa and consist of:
- Academic sector/researchers
International NGOs - Private sector
- Media organisations (including radio)
- Domestic NGOs/PWA groups/CBOs
- Health workers
- Missionaries
- Relevant governmental offices/officers
- Country-level partners in affected countries
